Tiamulin is used exclusively in the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases such as enzootic pneumonia and pleuropneumonia in pigs, and mycoplasmosis in birds. Typically, it is provided in food or drinking water in case of major outbreaks. It has also been used in swine dysentery. It could have a subinhibitory effect against Pasteurella species and is more effective in this case, if combined with oxytetracycline. It is also used in the control of atrophic rhinitis. Actinomyces pleuropneumoniae appears to be effectively controlled with the exclusive administration of tiamulin.

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM: soluble powder to be administered in drinking water or food. TIAMUCEV 80 has very significant activity against Mycoplasma, a large number of Gran positive bacteria, as well as some Gram negative bacteria. Acts bacteriostatically.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND DOSE:
POULTRY: The dose is 10-20 mg/kg live weight. In food: administer 125 g to 250 g of product per ton of food, for 3 to 6 days. In drinking water: administer 12.5 g to 25 g per 100 liters of drinking water, for 3 to 6 days. These quantities were calculated considering a consumption of 100 g of food for each kg of live weight and 100 mL of water for each kg of live weight. To ensure ingestion of the recommended dose, medicated water will be the only source of drinking water.
SWINE: The dose is 7.5 – 15 mg/kg live weight. Dysentery treatment In food: Administer 300 g of product per ton of food, for 3 to 7 days. In drinking water: Administer 20 g of product every 100 liters of drinking water, for 3 to 7 days. Dysentery control In food: Administer 150 g of product per ton of food during the risk period. In drinking water: Administer 10 g of product every 100 liters of drinking water during the risk period. Enzootic pneumonia In food: 300 g of product per ton of food, for 7 days. In drinking water: Administer 20 g of product every 100 liters of drinking water, for 7 days. Continuous treatment for both species. Consult with your veterinarian to adjust the dosage according to the needs of the case to be treated. To administer in drinking water, it is recommended to prepare the daily amount to be consumed. Do not use prepared solutions that are more than 24 hours old. The duration of this product once mixed with food is 15 days.

Withdrawal Period
Birds (Gallus gallus): 5 days must elapse between the last treatment and the slaughter of the animal to use the meat for human consumption.
Pigs: 7 days must elapse between the last treatment and the slaughter of the animal to use the meat for human consumption. The use of this product without a correct diagnosis can generate antimicrobial resistance. The dose, intervals and duration of treatment must be respected.
